How much does it cost to enter?
It costs £2.50 to enter the Individual Games.
It costs £10 to enter the Team Games as a team of 4 people.
Do I need to register in advance to compete in the championships?
You need to register via the event website in advance if you plan to compete in the Team Games. Registration closes about a week before the event. The Team then needs to report to the Registration Tent on the day. You do not need to register in advance if you plan to compete in the Individual Games.
Where do I go to register for the Individual Games?
You go to the Registration Tent, which is next to the river.
Can I compete in the championships even if I don’t live in the UK?
Yes you can compete even if you don’t live in the UK. We have had past winners from as far as Australia.
Can I bring my own Poohsticks to the championships?
On the day you will be given a Regulation Poohstick so you don’t have to bring your own Poohstick.
Can we enter a team if we have less than four team players?
Yes you can. This means that some of the team players will be playing twice. There is no need to merge “orphan teams” to create a full team of four players.
Can I just watch the World Poohsticks Championships instead of taking part?
Yes you can simply spectate at the World Poohsticks Championships free of charge! It’s the perfect chance to watch, have a picnic, or even do some of the other activities available. You are more than welcome to bring your own chairs and rugs to sit on.
Will you be able to host the Poohsticks Championships outside Witney?
Unfortunately we do not have any plans on hosting the World Poohsticks Championships outside Witney, UK. However we encourage everyone to play their own Poohsticks games at their local bridge.
