Pooh Sticks has a new home: Cogges Manor Farm

new-home-thumbAfter 31 years of Championships on the River Thames at Day’s Lock in Little Wittenham, we will be moving to Witney!

The Championships will be run in partnership with Cogges Manor Farm, at Langel Common on the River Windrush.

Here are a couple of photos from Sunday 15th February, when the photographer from the Oxford Mail joined us at the new bridge.

The World Championships will be held on Sunday 7th June and will coincide with a Stick Day at Cogges.

Visitors will be able to take part in the Pooh Sticks competitions on the bridge in the middle of the common, join in with the other ususal games such as hook a duck and splat the rat, and then they will also be able to visit Cogges Manor Farm to see the animals or take part in a variety of stick-related activiites.

We will post more details over the next few weeks, but put the date in your diaries right now!

Members of the Rotary Club of Oxford Spires and the Rotary Club of Wallingford, Sinodun & District would like to thank the residents of Little Wittenham, the staff and volunteers of the Earth Trust, and the staff of the Environment Agency for their support at the Pooh Sticks Championships over the last 31 years.
The logistics have become more difficult over the last few years, as the event has become more popular and the use of the land has changed. We wish the Earth Trust well with their Lambing Weekends and the villagers with their activities.
